Join our Compost Committee and help us to take care of Mother Earth🌍
We love our compost volunteers! As a volunteer, you’ll be part of a dynamic and engaging group of folks who act as compost ambassadors for education, advocacy and sustainability in support of our community. Our goal is to work collaboratively to divert food waste from landfill, to restore microbial life and nutrients to the soil, to educate our community about sustainability and benefits of composting and to show the city that composting is an important and necessary practice for our society and future.
If you’re interested in volunteering with the compost committee, shifts take place every 6-8 weeks and a shift leader is present to show you around and answer any questions you may have. Regular orientations will take place in the garden led by Zhenia and other graduates of the citywide Master Composter program.
Here is a link to sign up to volunteer for 2025 season (April - December); we close for winter. If you have any questions, email Compost Co-Captains, Zhenia at Zhenia.nagorny@gmail.com and Bryen at bryen.pittner@yahoo.com
