Because of the pandemic, garden activities are restricted and the gate is locked when no one is there. But if there are people working in the garden, feel free to stop in. Compost drop-off is Saturdays 10:30am to 12:30pm only and our committees are meeting. If you want to help out with that work, please learn more about becoming a member, and join a committee to get info about work that suits your interests.

The Maple Street Community Garden is a multipurpose garden and community space located in the Prospect Lefferts Gardens neighborhood of Brooklyn. This 6,000 square foot urban oasis was established by residents of the neighborhood, who in 2012 began transforming the vacant, trash-strewn lot into a place where community members could come together.
The mission of the Maple Street Community Garden is to foster community and cultivate a peaceful and joyous place to serve everyone. We are dedicated to providing a safe and brave space for community members to gather, regardless of their race, age, religion, educational background, class, sexuality, gender identity, immigration status, disability and access needs, or any other marginalized status. Discriminitory language and behavior is not acceptable. As a community, we will hold each other accountable.
