Bake for Maple Street

  • Maple Street Community Garden 237 Maple Street Brooklyn, NY, 11225 United States (map)

Join us at the garden on Saturday, November 21, for a bake sale to benefit the garden’s programming and equipment needs in 2021.

Inspired by community-minded projects like Bakers Against Racism, The Okra Project, and The Black Chef Movement, Maple Street will sell donated baked goods from garden community members and local bakers at the garden to coincide with the last day of the Fresh Food Box program. Efforts will be made to meet dietary restrictions and allergies, including gluten-free, low- and no-sugar, vegan, nut allergies, etc.

Following the success of the inaugural Fresh Food Box program, MSCG has become an established resource in the Prospect-Lefferts Gardens neighborhood for fresh, locally-sourced produce, dairy, and pantry staples. Through our partnerships with organizations like Breaking Bread and Domestic Workers United, and with the generous donations of individual community members, the program has provided an average of 55 sponsored bags each week to our neighbors since early June.
