Annual Membership Appeal Letter

Get Involved & Support Your Garden
Dear Garden friend and Supporter:

It has certainly been a challenging 2020 for our community and we hope that this letter finds you safe and well.
Due to Covid-19 and Greenthumb regulations, the garden was forced to close aside from essential maintenance which included growing crops and building  beds.  The garden leadership developed safety protocols to keep volunteers safe so that we could continue improving our lovely community space.
Due to Covid-19's effect on the city's as well as on a number of granting institutions' budgets, we were not able to get the funding we were expecting.  We hope that your support can help us raise much-needed funds to:
  1. Install a drip irrigation system that would transport water directly to the plant roots.  This sustainable garden technique not only saves water but time.
  2. Lumber so more garden beds can be built in the back of the garden and trellises can be built to provide shade and a garden meeting area.
We ask that you join or renew your membership today ($20/individual or $30/household -  sliding scale is available upon request) by following this link.
Annual membership dues are the only regular income the garden receives.  Due to Covid-19, our membership was delayed by a few months- so your membership would last until December 31, 2020We hope that your appreciation for this beloved community space can surpass this circumstance.
If you are not able to join as a member, please consider a tax-deductible donation. Please indicate whether your contribution is for 'membership' or 'donation'.

We prefer that you use PayPal, Credit or Debit Card, although we accept cash or check. Please make your check out to MAPLE STREET COMMUNITY GARDEN and deliver/mail to: c/o Nancy Hoch-167 Maple Street Brooklyn, NY 11225.

Thank you for your support. We look forward to seeing you at the garden soon!

In June, the Fresh Food program was launched to offer fresh produce at a low cost to our community. Here, volunteers are packing boxes for pickup.
Fresh Food Box pickup is Saturdays 11:45a.m.-2p.m.
Pollinators have been busy at the garden all summer.
Last Spring, our garden had a massive makeover. A group of dedicated volunteers came together to build 11 hexagonal beds to expand growing space.
