Please consider plastic-free ways to bring your food scraps into the garden🗑

A PSA to our community: please consider plastic-free ways to bring your food scraps into the garden.

We love it that you believe in sustainability but your single use plastic bags go into our trash and, worst of all, add to the city’s already full landfills.

Consider using brown paper bags, yogurt containers, reusable freezer bags or any of the interesting alternatives shown in our recent instagram post. Let us know in the comments if you have any practice other plastic-free alternatives.

To receive an email update once Wednesday drop off will reopen (in Spring 2022) sign up here.

Alternatively, please check the Maple Street Garden Instagram for last minute changes. If compost is closed or no volunteers are present, we kindly ask that you please do not leave food scraps by the fence. This invites rodents to stage a feeding frenzy on the block and disrupts our relations with our neighbors.

In soil-darity!
