Attention: Food scraps drop-off will re-open on Wednesday, 5/4

Maple Street Community Garden is thrilled to announce the re-opening of Wednesday food scraps drop off starting 5/4.

The hours are 10:30am - 12:30pm.

Since we process our scraps on Wednesdays, we ask that you only drop off only fruits, vegetables, eggshells and coffee grounds. Please chop all your food scraps to help us.

We DO NOT ACCEPT:

**biodegradable/disposable (green) bags & utensils

**remove all stickers and rubber bands

**no bagels, bread, rice or grains

**no store bought flowers (they usually contain a lot of pesticides)

Since we are a community volunteer-led operation (we are not sponsored by DSNY or have paid staff like GrowNYC), we kindly ask that you make a donation or join our team.

To receive notification when we close unexpectedly (due to weather or volunteer shortage), join the compost updates list serve by clicking here.

We ask that you DO NOT leave your food scraps at the gate if no volunteer is present. It will be thrown in the trash and you will be haunted by earthworms and pill bugs while you sleep.

In soil-darity,

MSCG Compost Team
